My home restaurant while traveling....feels like my on man cave with phenomenal drinks and service

Had a wonderful time last night for my daughter and nieces birthday dinner. Everything turned out well!

Delicious food and fantastic service! We had date night there and Torri was our server. All of her recommendations for each course was exactly what was described and she knocked it out the park with each course selection. Highly recommend, and ask for Torri!

This place was fantastic!

I used to really like this restaurant but after my visit tonight I will not be going back. The food has really gone downhill.Someone in my party ordered a cheeseburger cooked medium and it was rare. my meal came with some kind of cooked greens that were so sweet I couldn't eat them. We were going to order dessert because we were there celebrating a birthday but we could not find anything on the dessert menu that sounded good.

Pleasant atmosphere. Soft background music and acoustics nice for conversations. Service excellent. Had the burger ($10 burger night). Although taste was good, it was a little over cooked. Next time I'll try fish tacos or the salmon which looked great. But SERVICE was excellent.

Super great food. I had the filet and my husband had fried chicken. Both were excellent!!

Jack's Lounge is a mahogany and brass kinda place almost feels like a 1940s throwback. It's elegant, quiet, clubby and cozy. You almost feel like there's a secret poker game in the back. The perfect spot for catching up with a friend or meeting a client. Leather couches, dim lights and coffee tables fosters a relaxed feel. Bar is small and welcoming. Jack's gives a old money feel with mostly an over 50 crowd. Located in the heart of St. Matthews it's in a nondescript and dated building with a no frills exterior. Humphrey Bogart would be comfortable here. Great place to unwind with a bourbon. I love this place!

Took my fiancé out for our V-Day dinner and it was outstanding!!! The service was exceptional, and above all, the food Chef Jon Pauly prepared for us was delicious!! We have been to many of the “Five star” or “Michelin Star” restaurants in Louisville and Equus takes the top spot in my opinion. If you’re going to spend your money at a nice restaurant in town do it here! You won’t regret it!

Excellent experience. I haven’t dined there in over 8 years. Hats off to the new owners doing the best you could possibly do during these troubling times. Service and food were amazing. Thanks for the wonderful night out and thanks to Will and Nick for the great service.

Awesome food and absolutely top notch service. Can't recommend highly enough. We brought our 6 & 8 year old kids, and the staff were awesome to them. Love this place. Truly a gem.

Amazing food presented beautifully What more could one want?

Personally, I wouldn’t return. Several appetizers were ordered and two of my calamari orders were cold. Our entrees were barely warm as well. The shrimp and grits posted here, were okay. If plates separately, they would have tasted fine. However, the flavors do not mesh well together. The crab cakes were great, so make sure to order those. The service was nice and they were accommodating. Although the prices are fair, this type of restaurant shouldn’t have sent cold food.

We had a great dinner here last night. The food was creative and flavorful. The ambiance was perfect and our server, Dugan, was spot on with recommendations. We will definitely have to go back soon.

Really nice place, service was good, friendly staff. American menu, food was good, served hot and timely. This would be a great place to take a date. I do feel the atmosphere was excellent, and quiet during our meal. A little pricey in my opinion, give it a try, may be the restaurant you are looking for.

The atmosphere is that of a gourmet nice restaurant, but the food felt a little more casual. I got the barbecue sliders and it was good but wasn't the kind of elegant dish I was hoping for.

Great place for a drink!

Comfortable lounge seating in different sections like you're sitting in your own living room. My fav place to sit and have a cocktail appetizer with my friends. EXCELLENT food!

We had Ryan for a server; he wore many hats and ran around but always was there when we were ready to order or had a question; a very hospitable gentleman who gave great bourbon recommendations. Our experience was excellent, great food and great drinks!

Upscale venue with great decor, fine food and libations

This is a somewhat upscale restaurant and bar. The atmosphere is quiet and subdued. The staff are efficient, attentive, prompt and somewhat formal. Prices are a bit expensive, but not exorbitant. About what you'd expect from the first impression when you walk through the door.The menu isn't extensive but offers an adequate selection of nice options. Not all plain everyday dishes, but not exotic.Full bar service is available and a good selection of wine, beer and mixed drinks is offered. Reservations are not required, but definitely recommended for groups or busy times. Credit and debit cards are accepted.Parking is free but space limited when busy.The facility appears to be wheelchair accessible, however van accessable parking may be a problem.If you find this review useful, please mark the "thumbs up" icon.

My Sweetheart and I dined at Equus on Valentine's Day and we were more than pleased with our experience. The sea bass was world class and the signature pot roast was so tender I could cut it with my fork. The restaurant staff were all very courteous and professional. Our server, Nick, took customer service to a new level. We will definitely make a return visit long before the next Valentine's Day rolls around.
